Acting & Directing

Poet, playwright, novelist, actor, director and sculptor, Lawrence Holofcener was born in the U.S. and is both a U.S. and UK citizen. He holds a BA degree in Theatre Arts from Thomas Edison University.

His plays and musicals have been produced on Broadway and in the West End.

As an actor he appeared in "Stop The World" and "Hello Dolly" on Broadway and in regional theatres throughout the USA.

His musical, "I Don’t Live There Anymore" toured South Carolina in the Fall of 2000.

As sculptor, Holofcener has exhibited in both countries, in London at the Bruton Street Gallery and the Catto Gallery, as well as selling through Sotheby’s.

Among his known works are "Allies," Churchill and Roosevelt, in Bond Street, Meeting Princess Margaret"Faces of Olivier" in the Chichester Theatre, and "Thomas Paine" in Bordentown, New Jersey.

His commission: life-size portraits of Thomas Chatterton, William Penn and William Tyndale for Bristol was unveiled in mid-June 2000 by HRH Prince Charles.
"Icons of the 20th Century" is a series of bas-reliefs, busts and 1/4 life-size portraits of individuals who have made significant contributions in their fields of endeavor. These include: Albert Einstein, Sir Winston Churchill, Roosevelt, Laurence Olivier, Mohandas Gandhi, Charlie Chaplin, Eleanor Roosevelt, Elvis Presley, Marlon Brando, J.F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Mother Theresa, Charles de Gaulle, Muhammad Ali, Frank Sinatra, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, The Beatles, Ben Gurion & Golda Meir, etc. The "Icons" are cast in limited editions and for any information and prices please contact the atelier directly.
